Everyone deserves a birthday! Some celebrate with Gotcha Days, while others celebrate DOGust. The North Shore Animal League – the oldest no-kill shelter in the country, declared Aug 1 as DOGust, the universal birthday of shelter dogs.
Here’s a few ways to celebrate:
- Visit a Local Shelter – Consider dropping off a donation (treats, pet beds, toys). Who knows, maybe you’ll meet your new best friend?
- Celebrate with YOUR Dog – Head to your local pet specialty store and let your pup pick out some presents. You can get a FREE Birthday/Gotcha Day treat if you’re part of the VE ALPHA PACK! Sign up here.
- Share pictures of your adopted pup or dogs that need help finding homes on social media with #DOGust.
How is Vital Essentials celebrating? Check it out!
Vital Essentials took a trip to Happily Ever After Animal Sanctuary and Wisconsin Humane Society – Green Bay Campus, two local animal shelters in Green Bay, Wisconsin. We celebrated DOGust with a donation of freeze-dried snacks and frozen bones! During our trip we met a few wonderful dogs that are currently looking for homes. With YOUR help, we know we can get these guys adopted!
